Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving dinner was perfect yet again down at Gway & Pa Stokes'. How come we eat so much food? Because it all tastes so darn good!

The festivities and eating actually started with our first annual Cook-Stokes gathering at our home on Wednesday night. It was so much fun getting together with the Cooks. Some of which we hadn't seen in quite a while. Definately a must-do for next year!

Gway had her "Grandma Day" down at the aquarium on Friday. Everyone had a great time. Although, Aiden was not too impressed with the Sting Ray exhibit.

New Moon Premier

Karlee and I, with a group of 25 other "women", (if you can call us such a mature term) enjoyed true pleasure during the New Moon premier last night...or should I say this morning. The movie started at midnight and it was just before 3:00 a.m. before we were headed home. And yes, Karlee had drill and school the next day. She only got 2 hours of sleep, but it was totally worth it!

The movie was so good! Now we are left with such a dilema . . . we are thoroughly confused as to which "monster" we want. Edward the vampire or Jacob the werewolf.

First there was Edward. . . aaawww. . .

Then there was Jacob . . . ooohhh . . .

How to choose? . . .

Veteran's Day

One of our favorite veterans, Pa Stokes, once again attended the Middle School's Veteran's Day Assembly. This year the assembly was exceptional. They had an impressive video presentation showing many photos of the fighting men and women in the wars of our country's history. They then acknowledged the 19 Morgan County men who lost their lives in the service of their country. Each veteran in attendance was given a handmade card made by the students.

Over the years, Karlee and Garet have loved having their Pa attend the annual assembly. They are very proud when Pa stands for recognition as a veteran. You should be there when the middle school students applaud the veterans with a standing ovation, it is very touching.

There are a few other veterans in our family. Below you will see my favorites!

This is Pa saluting the flag during the Air Force song at the assembly today. Pa served all over the world. Thank you, Pa, for your years of service. We love you!

This is Daddy just a few years ago - ha ha. Daddy fought in the Korea and Vietnam wars and served across the globe. Thank you, Daddy, I love you & miss you!.

Lemuel R. (Tom) Egleston, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret)

Brad flew top secret missions to who knows where, doing who knows what. "He could tell us, but then he'd have to kill us!" Thank you, Brad . . . I think?

Happy Birthday Aiden!

We celebrated Aiden's 2nd birthday today. It is hard to believe the little tyke is already 2 years old! Wow, time flies when you're havin' fun!

Annie treated us to nummy hawaiian haystacks and cheese fondue. Gway Stokes made Aiden the cutest, most delicious train-shaped birthday cake we've ever seen. Needless to say we all stuffed ourselves sick! It was pure bliss!

Aiden loved opening and playing with his presents. Once again, B & Brad brought the favorite present. They are known for awesome gifts, so word to the wise - make sure to invite them to your next birthday party! They brought Aiden a big yellow dump truck that raised it's bed, made noises, and drove forwards & backwards with a touch of a button. If you know Aiden, you know how he LOVES to push buttons - especially when they make sounds!

It was so good being together and enjoying that little boy that we love so much. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIDEN!

Happy Halloween!

This Halloween was extra fun with Gway & Pa & Aiden and his parents over for dinner. It was so good being together. Garet dressed as an army dude, and Karlee a native american princess. Aiden was the cutest pumpkin we had ever seen, and his mommy, Annie, was a kitty. B & Brad weren't invited because we were very afraid they would show up in costume! (They were too busy at their underwater pumpkin carving contest anyway - no joke!) Hope everyone had a great Halloween!
