BYU-I Education Week

This is our 4th year attending Education Week @ BYUI. We have lots of fun, eat lots of food, and of course get spiritually fed in the mean time. The instructors are awesome (I'm a Ross Baron groupie) & the classes are just what I need.

Just a quick thank you to my amazing friends Lara, Terri, & Jenni. You guys love me even with all my shortcomings and weaknesses - which are many - Thank You!

The Blue Angels

Jeff & Garet had the most amazing opportunity to see the Blue Angels with V.I.P. tickets. How's that for spoiled! We always see the Thunderbirds when they come to town, but we have never seen the Navy's Blue Angels...which was Jeff's life-long dream. Per Jeff, the show was amazing - especially with the up-close view from the V.I.P. seating!

Well, I was at work last night when Karlee called me to inform me that she'd been stung by a jellyfish. Wow, what a thing to hear from your daughter calling from Mexico. Jellyfish stings can range from zero reaction to death with a multitude of variations in between. She assured me that she was OK and that Brad had shaved her legs to get the jellyfish nematocysts off her legs. B said in an email that Karlee was tough & took it like a big girl. Amazing girl. I haven't heard from her today, hopefully she's still OK and not in the Mexican ER.

...You know, funny thing, that Brad with us Stokes Ladies. First with me in Fiji, washing puke out of my hair. Then Karlee, shaving her legs. Hmmmmm...watch out for him in Hawaii, Gway!!!

As B so eloquently put it...the vacation bar has been raised. I do believe no other vacation will compare to Karlee's San Carlos experience...and the week is only half over! Thank you, Gordon & Wanda, for inviting her and giving her an experience of a lifetime!

Rumor has it she's havin' fun! She's seen an octopus, a school of barracuda, a puffer fish, and many other interesting fish and sea life. And per B, she's becoming Mexican...brown like one anyway. Man - are we jealous!

Mexico . . . here she comes!!!

Karlee & I came back early from our week of camping at Bear Lake so we could get a good nights sleep, get her packed, and get her to the airport this morning. This spoiled young lady gets to fly with B&B into Tucson then ride in a suburban full of people and luggage about 8 hours south into the grand country of Mexico. This morning she was a bit nervous to board an airplane and venture outside the U.S. without her parents, and extremely nervous to think about scuba diving in the vast ocean full of man-eating creatures and miles of water to drown in. But... Karlee has the BEST scuba instructors in the whole wide world, and she is in good hands with B&B. And most importantly, B promised me that she'd bring her back home!
