Karlee & Duane

Duane brought each of us a homemade cinnamin roll tonight - he had to make something & deliver it to a neighbor for his foods class and he thought of Karlee!! YAY!!! He was actually killing two birds with one stone...getting his homework done AND thanking Karlee for helping him ask a girl to the Homecoming Dance!

And aren't they so grown up drinking out of the sippy cups???

Oh ya, and the cinnamin rolls were divinely delish! I'm very impressed with Duane's baking skills!!!

And She Said "Yes!"

Karlee (with her Girlzies' help) answered Jake this afternoon with a candy bar poster & by "decorating" his room with crepe paper & confetti! We can't wait to hear what he thinks about it when he gets home tonight!

Ummm...they even put confetti in the underwear drawer...

The candy bar message was so big it started on his pillow then went off the bed onto the floor!

Here's the IMPORTANT one!

The (Gorgeous) Wrecking Crew

My Girlzies!

The Candy Bar message was way cute:

I sure hit PAY DAY when I found a present on my front porch! I blurted out a few CHUCKLES even giggled a few SNICKERS as I dug through my present of WHATCHAMACALLIT! I really SKORed when an AIR HEAD like me was asked to the dance by a RED HOTS, BIG HUNK like you! I'm EXTRA sure I wouldn't wanna go to the THINGAMAJIG with anyone else, not even for a 100 GRAND! So yes! It was DOUBLEMINT to be! I'd love to go to Homecoming with you!!! Going to the dance with you will be better than ORBITing the MILKY WAY! I know we're going to have a WHOPPER of a GOOD & PLENTY time and MOUNDS of ALMOND JOY as we do the MAMBA on the dance floor! We'll have more fun than the 3 MUSKETEERS! And I'll even promise you I'll try to not be a GOOBER and ROLOver the dance floor like some RUNTS. It was UP2U to ask me, so thank you for being a SMARTIES and asking me to Homecoming instead of some other NERDS!!!

Homecoming Dance, Here She Comes!!!

Well...the door bell rang tonight, & when we went to the door no one was there, BUT there was a present on the front porch.

Being the obedient soul, Karlee did as instructed...

& she opened the present to find... a bunch of confetti! Well... we ALL started looking through the confetti for a message of some type...

And Karlee was SO excited when she found this!!!!!

Written in miniture writing is "Will you go to Homecoming with me? - Jake Caldwell (it will be fun)"

Oh ya...and Confetti very fittingly LOVED the confetti!!!

Jake is a GREAT kid & we are ALL so excited he asked her to the dance! They're going to have a lot of fun, I'm sure!!!

Burn Camp 2011

Neptune Divers puts on a scuba experience for child burn victims each year at the U of U's Annual Burn Camp! I LOVE being there watching those kids have fun in the water. This is my second year attending Burn Camp (I'm unofficially the official photographer) and it was neat to see how a few of the children had changed from last year. Those who were afraid last year were not nearly as nervous this year. Everyone - especially the adults - had a GREAT time!!!

The is B, Jaci, & Karlee. Last year it took us over 30 minutes to even get Jaci in the water with all the scuba gear. This year she was not nearly as afraid, but we did have to swap out her mask about 4 times. She was finally satisfied with her mask after B gave her hers to wear! THEN we couldn't get Jaci OUT of the water!!! :D

Karlee was unofficially our official underwater photographer. I'll post a few underwater pix as soon as B&B get them to me.

Happy 50th Anniversary!

Happy 50th Anniversary Gway & Pa!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!

We had a great time at our 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration. The WHOLE fam was there (oops...except for Sam. We missed you, Sam!!) We spent 4 full days playing together in a condo in Midway. The very last night we all gathered together and each of us shared a memory of Gway & Pa. Some memories were hysterical and some were emotional, but it was a wonderful time sharing a smidgen of love that we have for our favorite Gway & Pa!

Them cutting their cake

Them & their kids

Them, their kids, & their kids' kids. Oh...and their kids' spouses. (Oh, and Brad & Kaiser too!)(Thank you AGAIN B&B for letting us crash your place for dinner!!!)

A few of the memories the Stokes Folks shared of Gway & Pa:

Jeff's Memory: Of being a small boy en route to piano lessons at Uncle Kens with Gway behind the wheel AND Gway getting ANOTHER ticket on that SAME road AGAIN!!! Jeff also shared the story of Pa as a teenager racing home one night so he wouldn't get in trouble for being home late. Pa unknowingly passed his own dad...going well over the speed limit Well...when his dad got home, he didn't say anything to Pa, he just walked over to him and asked for the car keys!

My Memory: Shortly after we were married, we attended Dad's retirement in California. We had 2 hotel rooms. Jeff & I & Pa were in one room, Pete, Stacie, & Gway were in the other room. At about 2am, after being unable to sleep because of Pa's snoring, I stormed out of our room in my jamies & pounded on Gway's door. I crawled into bed with Gway and... wasn't able to sleep there either because of HER snoring!

Garet's Memory: All the fun we had in Hawaii last fall with them! And that was a LOT of fun!!!

Karlee's Memory: Being baby-sat by them as Jeff & I traveled the world. One day in particular she remembered. The kids talked Gway into letting them have ice cream for lunch. You know how Grandma's are. They happily ate ice cream that day for lunch. Well, that night Gway was away and Pa was in charge. The kids proceeded to talk Pa into letting them have ice cream for dinner (he didn't know they'd just had ice cream for lunch!) What a GREAT day! Aren't Grandparents the BEST!!!

A most dear memory I have of my Gway & Pa actually happened before Jeff & I were married: As we were dating, I (being the heathen non-LDS girl) was not overly welcomed by the Stokes. They were never mean or rude, but just not OVERLY excited I was around. Anyways, when Jeff announced to his parents that we were getting married they really were not very happy about it! (Thank goodness I wasn't there for that one!) Of course Jeff told me their reaction - yikes! I was quite nervous and not looking forward to my next visit to their home. BUT guess what happened when I walked in their door!!!! Before I was even 3 steps into their home I was greeted by a bear hug from Gway! And I have received those bear hugs for over 22 years now!

Thank you, Gway & Pa for loving me, my hubby (your son) & my kids (your grand kids). I love you and appreciate you both more than you'll ever know!

Happy 50th Anniversary, Gway & Pa!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!
