YAHOO! Karlee made drill!

We are so excited after the stress of drill try-outs this week, of learning the new dance & dancing it 45,000 times and then dancing it again once more, of 48 counts of military arms, of lack of sleep, sore muscles, dizziness, stomach aches, nausea, pain, tears and prayers, AND CALL BACKS! Karlee made drill team again this year! YAHOO! (Warning - lots of pics - we were there 4 hours!)

Karlee & Erika stretching & dancing the dance yet one more time!

Karlee doing her favorite turn - AND she's dang good at 'em.

The try-outs are performed 3 girls at a time. The girls are lined up according to height and counted off. This is quite unique, because these 3 girls tried-out together last year AND this year too! Kayla, Kellie, & Karlee.

This is the Senior girls coming to collect the next group of 3 - Karlee's group. I put this pic in because I LOVE Jayd in the background giving Karlee a good-luck hug! I missed the photo op, but Erika had just given Karlee a hug as well.

McKel giving Karlee a hug before they head to the gym.

Karlee & McKel arm in arm as Karlee's group and the Seniors head to the gym for their turn to try-out.

Erika talking Karlee through the stress as we wait through call backs to get our letters. What cute girls!

Us moms love our Troyettes! Jolene & Kayla.

Those Troyettes love their moms! Tammy & Karlie.

Kylie & Erika.

A massage train. Gotta pass the time somehow! (Did I mention we were there 4 hours?!?) Michael, Morgan, Cheridyn, Annette, Erika, & Megan.

Jayd...enough said!

This is the letter stating whether Karlee made the team or not. We are not allowed to open it on school property, so we booked it out of there pretty quick.
Cortney giving Karlee a hug after she received her letter - we still don't know if she made the team yet.

Hugs from McKel as we are leaving the school to open the letter.

YIPPEE! We finally got to open the letter and she made the team!

Daddy loves.

Balloons & presents.

The Seniors waking Karlee near midnight (on a school night) to steal her for a fun sleep-over at McKel's. The girls were up ALL night with breakfast at Natalies the next morning at 6:45 then off to school. Oh to be young again!

Our awesome Seniors: McKel, Nicole, & Cortney. We will miss 'em!

What a BLAST!

Get Garet and Dallin together and that spells trouble!!! The crazy kids had a BLAST making bombs with water bottles, baking soda, and vinegar. Should we be concerned?

The lid goes on and then the boys chuck it as fast as they can so it doesn't go off in their hands. You can ask Dallin how fun that is! (Notice the required eye protection!)

Happy Birthday, Jeff!

Life is crazy and sometimes doesn't allow the time to celebrate birthdays appropriately...like today. Because of work meetings, scout meetings, drill try-outs, and numerous other things, there was no time in the day to gather the 4 of us together to celebrate Jeff''s birthday. Therefore, we had a birthday breakfast! (This is the 1st breakfast I have made my family in years...I'm not a breakfast cookin' kind of mom/wife.)

10 Things I love about Jeff: (I love so many things about him, I had to narrow it down to only 10 for the blog - don't want this to be too boring for visitors.)

1. He loves me - unconditionally. Even though I push the boundary of his love - a lot - Jeff astounds me by loving me anyways. Amazing man!

2. His patience. Ha Ha! K - everyone knows he's not terribly patient, BUT even when I wrecked my new car into the light pole (that was not moving & has been there for years) he did not raise his voice or criticize or complain. OK, maybe he complained a little bit because I called and woke him up at 5am to come rescue me...I was leaving work & he was snug in bed on that cold winter morning. But, he never made me feel stupid (I think he could tell I was already feeling stupid) nor did he criticize me. And he has put up with me and my stupidity for 21+ years - that takes patience. Actually, maybe tolerance is the optimal word...

3. He is smart. Not smart like 7th grade math homework, but smart like 7th grade science project homework. He has been the kids' go-to man for big school projects for years now. He was even my go-to man for big college projects and occasional church projects. He is intelligent in political ways and financial ways where I fall extremely short. He is brilliant in the business world and international world. And closer to home, he is excellent at problem-solving around the house! He always has the solution for every problem we bring to him - which we do on a daily basis. He fixes the computers, the internet, the phones, the cell phones, the cars, the motorcycles, the 4-wheeler, the trailer, the toilet, the washer, the dryer, the dishwasher, the stove, the sprinklers, the yard, the walls, the basement, the electrical, and even the dinner half the time. :) I love that man!

4. He loves animals. Jeff does not hunt or kill animals, and loves and adores all our pets. Even the ones I bring home without his permission. (Tolerance here again!)

5. His warmth. I LOVE crawling into our cold bed at night and spooning to steal all his heat.

6. His impersonations. Not everyone knows he's good at impersonations and that's because he doesn't openly share his unique talent. But it is great fun when he surprises me with one. I have to be listening because I only get like 30 seconds each year. I laugh and beg for more, but sadly have to wait...

7. His hard work ethic. Because of Jeff we live in a beautiful home with a beautiful yard, have a car for every day of the week (seriously), plenty of food to eat, awesome clothes to wear, get to take years of dance lessons to prepare for the huge cost of drill team, years of AYSO soccer, rec b-ball and comp b-ball, go on amazing vacations, get to go out to eat pretty much whenever we want, go to movies, and have awesome birthday and Christmas celebrations. Thank you, Jeff, for spoiling us!

8. He is honest. I have never known Jeff to tell a lie or lead someone astray.

9. His commitment. He is committed to me, to our marriage, our family, our children, our church, our church leaders, our God, our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers, our bosses, our schools, our coaches, our obligations.

10. And last on my list (but not least of course)...I love, love, love that he is older than me!!! HE HE! Love you, Babe! Have a Happy Birthday!

Jeff - 43 years old today!

My OLD man!

Soccer Season Has Started

Today's weather was beautiful for Garet's 1st soccer game! And we won! YAY!

Tuesday night was Garet's last comp b-ball game - in which we also won, YAY! I don't have any pictures because I videoed the entire game for the team to review. No break for the weary...we now start right into the soccer season.

Garet is #3. Grey top & shorts.

Easter Egg Hunt - Sunday

Easter was extra fun on our camping trip. The kids were concerned that the Easter Bunny wouldn't be able to find them, but the all-knowing rabbit knew exactly where to leave their easter baskets. AND the kids got to go on a GIANT easter egg hunt up in the rocks behind camp. Now, how fun is that!?!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

The Easter Bunny found us!

Heading out to find our eggs!

View of camp from the rock hills.

Easter dinner was fun. The Heaths cooked a turkey in the ground and everyone brought nummy stuff to share. It was real windy at dinner time, so everyone sat with their backs to the wind. Karlee had her own idea to deal with the wind...see below. (Crazy kid!)
