Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everyone! Hope your hauntings went great!

This year Garet was a Zombie in a shredded suit, shirt & tie. He didn't want to wear the face make up, but he still looked great...for an undead fella.

Karlee actually found herself dressed as 3 different things this Halloween Season. First of all, she was a Zombie with the Troyettes, then a Witch for a Witches party. For school she dressed as Pocahontas, of which I didn't get a pic.

Aiden - our Bumble Bee

Pa. The story is Gway saw this fancy spider hat and instantly thought of Pa! And doesn't he look suave in it!

B. You can't tell from this pic, but she has flashy glasses & teeth. She's pretty much a flashy kinda gal!

I actually wore my devil horns to work last night...the Nurse from Hell.

Going Private

Ok...so because of a snafu with our email - it got hijacked & everyone in our contact list got an advertisement for drugs - we have decided to make our blog private. Because the email had a link for our blog included & when you clicked on the link it went to the drug sales site instead of our blog, we THINK it is somehow attached to our blog... Therefore, I'm just warning that we are going private soon. That doesn't mean you can't view our blog, it just means I have to give you permission & you might have to log in to see it. So...PLEASE email me at stokesplace@hotmail.com & I'll give you permission, because I still want you to come visit our blog!

Comp Ball Game #2

Last night's game was much better than last weeks. We still lost, but the boys did so much better. Garet had his hands on the ball a ton, and he even made a bucket and a free-throw. YIPPEE!

Garet is #3

Underwater Pumpkin Carving

Today was Seabase's Annual Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest. It was our first time attending, and the kids had a great time! They plan on attending every year.

Kids & Pumpkins pre-dive. Of course the kids chose the biggest pumpkins.

The pumpkins get gutted before diving. Oh and all the carving has to be done with an official dive knife.

Garet - post dive - with his carved pumpkin.

Karlee - post dive - with her carved pumpkin AND a bent dive knife. B lent Karlee her brand new, never-been-used, stainless steel dive knife and low and behold, Miss Muscles bent it carving her pumpkin. (Needless to say the knife is going back to the manufacturer.)

After the underwater pumpkin carving, they had bobbing for apples. They strung apples on a rope across the water and in only a wetsuit & fins, you had to "swim up" to attempt to take a bite out of an apple without using your hands. The first to take a bite out of an apple wins. They also gave awards for 2nd & 3rd place. This pic shows everyone lined up at their apple of choice before the contest started. Kind of hard to see in this pic, but people of ALL ages participated.

Karlee & Garet attempting to bite their apples.

Here's the cool thing, Karlee was the second one to bite her apple! YAY! Her prize was a new mask and snorkel!

Oh, I didn't mention this, but B&B were there too. I didn't take any pix of them today because they were busy teaching a class. But thank you, B&B, for inviting us and helping us have fun today!

Stokes Folks Scuba Diving

This is the first time the Stokes Folks have gone scuba diving together. Jeff & I went to Fiji a few years ago, Karlee went to Mexico in July, but this is Garet's first ocean dive - Hawaii.

Inky

This is Inky, the cutest little octopus you'll ever see, and if you watch the video you will understand where he gets his name. Our dive master found him and picked him up. Even though the diving in Hawaii wasn't the best, Inky made it all worth while. You will see me, Karlee, B, & Garet reach in and pet him. He was a really cute little guy and the deepest purply-red color. He felt really soft, almost furry or velvet. He was darling and we wanted to bring him home with us but we thought Confetti might get jealous.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Annie & Gway! Oh, and thank you for having birthdays so we could have a pig-out fest last night! (What a great excuse to make our famous sketty!) AND we were so excited, because the Hormans came too! YAY!

The Horman brothers happily showing off their height to their Birthday-Girl Grandma.

The other Birthday-Girl, Annie, with Aiden enjoying his "sketty".

Although, Aiden's favorite was the ice cream & hot fudge...mmm...Smart boy!

And, a meal isn't complete without Gway's famous punch concoction...you never know what you're gonna get, but it's guaranteed to be delish!

THRILLER!

Traditionally, every Halloween season the Troyettes dance at half time to Michael Jackson's Thriller. They dress as zombies, and about 5-10 minutes before performance time, they split up and sit dispersed in the crowd, including the visitors bleachers. When the music starts, the girls Zombie-walk/trip/crawl to center field and dance. It is so fun & the girls have a blast!

I snuck into the locker room to get a few pre-dance shots of the girls.

Peace-out, Nat! (You'll notice Natalie in the center in the maroon beanie - we LOVE you Nat!)

Comp B-Ball

Last night was game 1 of our Competition B-Ball season. Our boys started out pretty strong, but we didn't stay strong for very long. We lost - Dang It!

Our boys are in white jerseys. Garet is #3. (Sorry the photos are blurry - I guess it's too much action for my camera to keep up with.)

We're waiting (& not very patiently, either) for Garet to get his growth spurt. This pic compares Garet's height with that of Bridgers (#8). Yes, those boys are the same age.

Go Warriors!

Man it was a cold morning to watch Garet's soccer game, but Karlee & I bundled up to brave the cold. Jeff is up in Bear Lake helping Joel plant trees on his property, so he was unable to make it to the game. Garet wanted to go & help plant trees, but his Saturday is packed too full. Maybe next time.
