Feelin' Like Fall

Sooo... JoAnn's has their fall flowers 50% off...

I made me a wreath, and it even turned out pretty cute. So, I emailed a pic of it to B & asked if she wanted one.

She did. But she wanted to pic out her own flowers. I later found out she doesn't like sunflowers at all and that is the only flower I have on my wreath. Therefore... there are no sunflowers on B's wreath!

We had leftover flowers from both of our wreaths, so B suggested I make one for Gway Stokes.

It was fun taking the time putting together these fall wreaths, fun spending time with B, and fun surprising Gway! Shhhh... she doesn't even know about it yet!

Halloween Dance - Girl's Choice

Karlee decided to ask Jake Miles to the girl's choice Halloween Dance, knowing they'd have a blast! He's a super fun kid! We've known Jake and his family like forever & he & Karlee are great friends.

Since it's the Halloween Dance, Karlee decided to ask Jake in a Halloweenish way. So this is what he saw when he got home from school today.

I actually checked Karlee out of school to do this. (Bad Mom!) We chalk-outlined Karlee.

See. She's dead.

Then we left a mysterious message and a unique Guess Who game for Jake to play to find out who's asking him to the dance.

He still doesn't know who is asking him to the dance...

There were instructions to follow to play THIS Guess Who game.

First he had to open all the doors. Inside were a bunch of pix of fellow class mates, including Karlee's BFF's! (Karlee thought it'd be funny to put Jake's pic in too. He is top left.)

But after closing the doors if the clues didn't match, the only door remaining open was KARLEE!!! YAY!!!

AND Jake was so cute the next day at school, coming up to her and talking all about how creative the game was. What a GREAT thing for him to do! It's always nerve wracking, fearing rejection when you ask a super fun guy to a dance!!!

We got to see Garet's 3rd XC (Cross Country) meet today. What a FUN thing! Fun for us spectators anyways! This race was extra cool because we got to see the kids twice so I got to take a bunch of pix! And Garet did awesome!

Homecoming Festivities

Homecoming festivities have been happening all week, starting with the dance last Saturday. Today was the grand finale!

OK. So, the parade was at 4:00 after school & Garet has just finished running at XC practice. He was still at the school as the kids were lining up for the parade, but I couldn't talk him into going to watch it with me. So, feeling sorry for myself I went to watch the parade - all alone :( Next thing I know... the kid is ON A FLOAT!!! That was a fun surprise!!! He told me afterwards that they just decided at the last minute to hop on the float. He was going to call me & tell me, but he though it'd be fun to surprise me. And it was way fun to see him in the parade!!!! I love that kid!

The Freshman float was fun, divided down the middle with the "Y" fans standing on one side and the "U" fans standing down the other side!!! Garet was standing on the blue side of course (even though he was wearing red...)

Sooo... The Senior pushed Karlee from behind and launched her as Karlee was running full steam. Karlee was layed out on the field for like forever - Jeff & I went running when it seemed like she wasn't going to get up. When we got there, Coach C was asking her where she was and she was finally answering him appropriately, albeit a bit confused. We stood Karlee up shortly after that and she was quite dizzy, but seemed ok. The girls told me afterwards that she was out, with her eyes rolled up in her head. It scared them. It sure as heck scared us.

Karlee really does have awesome friends! These girls really do love her. This is Tori giving Karlee some loves.

I guess shortly after the chick pushed Karlee down, Mikaela went bazerk yelling (& cussing) at the girl. And then Mikaela kinda got ejected from the game... But these girls really do love each other & really do stick up for each other. Karlee got a million texts & phone calls (as did I from both the girls & their Moms) & even a visitor checking up on her! I love this bunch of girls with ALL my heart!!!
