I can finally bring myself to blog about state drill competition. It was an infuriating experience. The girlzies did AMAZING - the BEST they'd ever done & what were they rewarded with? 9th place. The judges were truly dishonest - scores were erased & replaced by lower ones. How fair & honest is that? And one of the teams that placed in the top 5 actually had 3 girls fall out of their headstands. Other coaches, including a winning coach, spoke with Coach Nat about their surprise at our ranking. We found out the hard way how political the judges really are. How can our Troyettes who have placed 1sts at every single competition finish the year with such corruption & heartbreak?
The girls have had a hard time, because they know (as we ALL do) that they did much better than 9th place. BUT, they are learning to cope with it. They are learning to rise above it. I love one of our senior's facebook post. Nikki - you're awesome!

These are MY state champs!!! They are an AMAZING team. This is the year that they have made a name for the Troyettes, taking 1st place awards EVERYWHERE they went! I love these girlzies!
That is just horrible! How can that be? You and those girls should all be proud!!
